Yasuo Kashiwagi is Partner, Head of Japan at Apollo, helping drive the firm’s origination and capital formation strategies and overall business growth in the country. Prior to joining Apollo, Yasuo was Senior Managing Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive of the Asset Management & Investor Services Business Unit at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation.

Yasuo also had a long career with Nomura Holdings where he held various executive leadership positions internationally in Europe and the United States, most notably the Executive Chairman of EMEA based in London and Head of Investment Banking Department for Nomura Securities International Inc based in New York.

Yasuo graduated from Tokyo University with a BA in Economics and from Thunderbird Graduate School with a Master of International Management. He is a chartered member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan and a certified securities broker representative in the US.
