Shari Verschell is Partner & Senior Tax Counsel at Apollo, where she leads the firm's tax legal team. Shari also serves as Co-Chair of the Apollo Opportunity Foundation Grants Council and Senior Champion of Apollo Women Empower (AWE) East. Prior to joining in 2012, she was Tax Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and a tax associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP before that.

Shari graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in Political Science and received her JD magna cum laude from Cornell Law School. She is on the boards of Bigs & Littles NYC Mentoring and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.
