Michael Shapiro is a Partner and Co-Head of Capital Markets & Syndication. In this role, Michael is responsible for driving the global capital markets and syndication / co-investment strategy across the Apollo platform. Prior to joining Apollo in 2021, Michael was a director on KKR’s public equity capital markets team where he was responsible for leading the advisory and execution of equity transactions globally on behalf of KKR portfolio companies as well as third party clients. In addition, Michael was head of investor relations for KKR’s public REIT, KKR Real Estate Finance Trust Inc. (NYSE: KREF). Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Shapiro was a director at Wells Fargo Securities on the equity capital markets team responsible for leading origination and execution efforts across the financial institutions sector. Mr. Shapiro received a B.S., summa cum laude, from Northeastern University.
