Josh Lewis is U.S. Head of Sponsor Origination at Apollo. Josh joined in 2022 from Ares Management, where he was a Managing Director within direct lending since joining in 2018. There he focused on originating and underwriting private investments in credit opportunities across secured, unsecured and preferred tranches for sponsor backed portfolio companies. Prior to Ares Management, Josh was with Citigroup Global Markets for over 10 years, having joined following business school. There he focused on Financial Sponsor coverage within Investment Banking advising clients on debt, equity and M&A transactions.

Josh graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an M.B.A. with Honors. Prior to Wharton, he graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science with Honors.
