Matt Nichols is a Partner in ABF, serving as the Head of Residential Credit. A seasoned executive in residential mortgage finance, Matt has more than 20 years of experience building and leading residential credit platforms. As Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Residential Credit at Pretium Partners, he oversaw the firm's whole loan business, leading the acquisition, underwriting, servicing, and asset management of performing, non-performing, and re-performing mortgage portfolios, while serving on the Executive Committee. Previously, as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Matt co-led the residential mortgage loan business and played a pivotal role in developing Deephaven into a multibillion-dollar non-agency mortgage origination platform before leading its strategic sale to Pretium in 2019. He holds a BA from Amherst College.
