Katie Newman is a Partner and Global Head of Tax Finance at Apollo.  Prior to this role she was Senior Tax Counsel for the firm’s Equity Business and for APO Transactions.  Prior to joining Apollo in 2010, Katie practiced law at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.  Katie graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Katie serves on the Board of Directors of Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance and is also President of the Board of Directors for Women’s Justice Initiative, a non-profit focused on education, access to legal services, and gender-based violence prevention.  She is also active in fundraising and volunteering for urban squash & academic enrichment organizations, such as CitySquash, and has recently become a member of Apollo’s Expanding Opportunity Steering Committee.
