Mr. Jacobs is the CEO of the Global 3rd Party Insurance business, with an emphasis on investment policy, themes, and strategic solutions, as well as client portfolio and relationship management. He has worked on insurance balance sheet management throughout his time at Apollo, initially acting as CIO of Apollo Insurance Solutions Group (with primary portfolio management responsibility for Athene), as well as CEO of Apollo Insurance Solutions Group International.

Prior to joining Apollo in 2019, Jeff was Global CIO and Lead Portfolio Manager of the Financial Institutions Group at BlackRock, where he was responsible for setting global macro investment strategy across all markets, as well as strategic direction and growth of the Global FIG business. In this capacity he led portfolio management teams in the US, London, Japan, and Hong Kong, and was responsible for creating appropriate investment strategies across regulatory environments and widely varied insurance balance sheets. He was a founding member of the FIG team at BlackRock.

Jeff is Chairman of the Board of the Special Operators Transition Foundation (SOTF), and previously served as a Trustee and board member of The Nature Conservancy of Eastern New York.  Jeff also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council of Princeton University, from which he graduated with a BA degree in History and a Certificate in Environmental Studies.
