Ashwini Apte is Head of Defined Contribution Consultant and OCIO Client Relationships at Apollo, where she focuses on advancing the dialogue around emerging DC market areas including private markets and lifetime income solutions. She joined Apollo in 2025, bringing over two decades of institutional DC market expertise across consulting and asset management.
Prior to Apollo, Ashwini spent nearly 7 years at BlackRock and led the U.S. Institutional Defined Contribution Consultant Relations Team. Before that, she served as a Senior Defined Contribution Consultant at NEPC, LLC for almost 13 years, advising large and mega plan sponsors on investment selection, fiduciary governance, and evolving DC trends.
Ashwini is deeply engaged in the DC industry's broader community. She serves on the Executive Board of the DCIIA (Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association) Retirement Research Committee, acts as a DCIIA NYC Ambassador, and is a member of DCALTA (Defined Contribution Alternatives Association), and is engaged with Chicago WIP (Chicago Women's Investment Professional Organization). A frequent speaker at industry conferences, podcasts, and webcasts, she is particularly passionate about the retirement challenges facing women and the importance of mentorship within organizations.
Ashwini holds the CAIA, CIMA, AIF, and AIFA designations. She graduated from Brandeis University in a 5 year accelerated Bachelors/Masters Program with a BA in Economics and a Masters in International Finance.
