Jason Wolin is a Managing Director and Head of Data Science in Apollo's Portfolio Performance Solutions (APPS) group, where he partners closely with deal teams across the investment lifecycle to support company due diligence and research. He applies data science, alternative data, and quantitative methods to generate analytical insights that inform thesis development and investment decision-making.
Jason brings significant experience building and leading quantitative research and data science teams in support of fundamental investing. Prior to joining Apollo, he was at Citadel, where he led the data science effort for a consumer investment team and conducted quantitative research and risk management for the firm's fundamental equity platform. Previously, he spent more than fifteen years at Maverick Capital, where he served as Head of Quantitative Research, building and leading a team that developed systematic tools, portfolio optimization, and risk analytics to support the firm's fundamental research process. Earlier in his career, Jason was a Portfolio Manager at Marshall Wace, where he developed and managed a long/short alpha capture strategy. He previously held roles at Citigroup Asset Management, CDC Investment Management, Bankers Trust, and JP Morgan.
Jason holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University's School of Management and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
