Mr. Portes joined Apollo in 2024 and is a Managing Director in Corporate Credit Trading, leading the trading of distressed and stressed corporate securities. Prior to that time, he was a Managing Director in Global Corporate Securities at AB CarVal Investors from February 2015 to February 2024. Prior to that, he held senior investment roles at Macquarie and Citadel. He began his career in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Portes is a member of the Board of Trustees of De La Salle Academy. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
