Troy Spencer is Managing Director of Apollo Insurance Solutions Group (AISG), where he jointly oversees its non-investment business functions and is responsible for the compliance, investment compliance, internal controls and operations groups. Prior to joining AISG, Troy served in a variety of senior roles for alternative asset managers including Coast Asset Management. While at Coast, Troy served at various times as General Counsel, Convertible Bond Sales-Trader, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He began his career as a tax attorney focused on complex cross-border tax structuring and private fund transactions.
Troy earned a BA in Economics from the Virginia Military Institute, a JD/MBA from the College of William and Mary, and an LL.M in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. He served for six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
