Gernot Lohr is Partner and Chair of Global Financial Institutions Group at Apollo, where he oversees the Firm’s investments in the financial services sector. Mr. Lohr is also a member of the Firm's Leadership Team and currently serves on the board of directors of Athora and Catalina Holdings. Mr. Lohr previously served on the board of directors of Amissima, BKB Bank, OLB Bank, NKBM Bank, Tranquilidade, Brit Insurance, Athene Holdings, Aspen, and AP Alternative Investments. Prior to joining Apollo in 2007, Mr. Lohr was a Founding Partner at Infinity Point LLC.

Mr. Lohr graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with a joint Master’s Degree in Economics and Engineering and holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he is currently a member of the MIT Sloan Advisory Board.
