Andrew (Andy) Jhawar, age 52, is currently in his 25th year as a Partner at Apollo, where he oversees investments in the consumer and retail industry sectors. Mr. Jhawar oversees Apollo’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the Leadership Advisory Forum and various Investment Committees of Apollo funds. Mr. Jhawar currently serves as Chairman of the Board at The Michaels Companies and The Stand, and Board member at PetSmart, The Fresh Market and Heritage Grocers Group (Cardenas Markets/El Rancho/Tony’s Fresh Market). He also previously served as Chairman of the Board of The Fresh Market, Smart & Final (Fund IX), Sprouts Farmers Market; Lead Board member at Hostess Brands and Smart & Final (Fund VI); and Board member at General Nutrition Centers and Rent-A-Center. In addition, he co-led the HVF investment in Albertsons. At Apollo, Mr. Jhawar has led, structured, managed and exited several private equity investment transactions that have generated over $5+ billion in aggregate profit dollars for Apollo funds.

Prior to joining Apollo, Mr. Jhawar was an investment banker for five years with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation and Jefferies & Company, where he focused primarily on the structuring, execution and negotiation of high yield debt and equity financing transactions.

Mr. Jhawar graduated with an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and graduated, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
